ABOUT THE FOUNDER:

The Denis Wampula Story

Denis Wampula was born in  1988 . This was the time when the AIDS scourge was at its peak. As a young child, I watched many relatives and friends both young and old succumb to this deadly disease.

I had a divided life whereby I spent my life partly in Kampala where my father worked and in the rural village of Iganga where my mother worked as a teacher. I saw how people suffered more so those that had no parents. I remember donating books to my good friend in primary two who had lost his parents after convincing my mum about him. Unfortunately, he also few years later died of AIDS. His death haunts me till today and it is one of the major reasons why I got the courage and motivation to help those in need.

Am a Secondary school teacher of English and Literature holding a Diploma in Secondary Education from Kyambogo University. But besides teaching I have entirely dedicated my life to helping Orphans, vulnerable children with the small salary I get as a teacher. Currently, I take care of 50 children that I do give care and support services which include scholastic materials, a meal at school, and fees with the help of a few friends that are not dependable. All in all, I face a big challenge of shortage of resources to fulfill the children needs.

From my own experience, I do understand that the cause of our children suffering is the effects of the deadly AIDS disease, Polygamy, poverty, and illiteracy. Many of our people are not educated and many instead of getting medication when they acquire Aids turn to witchcraft. I came up and started this organization to advocate for all this slowly with a focus on educating the most vulnerable children majorly Orphans, to sensitizing the community and to giving counseling services to our affected children and  other community members more so the elderly.

As a child, I faced school fees challenges because my parents were poor to afford it. This is where I did put myself in the shoes of those children without parents. Am here to spread the call that every child must get quality education and have a meal each day.

I am a Christian and I grew up in a Christian family where mum was a singer and music trainer in our church. I started helping children in 2010 when I had just completed my studies and with the Grace of God, I know I shall be able to change the lives of many more children, of course with your kind financial support, as every kind of help to the children revolves around spending money. At this moment, my dear brothers and sisters, I call on your kind support to my cause. Call on your brothers, sisters, family friends and relatives to join me in creating and restoring hope for “Orphans and most vulnerable children”. The time to help is now for we the future you never know, you may tomorrow require this same help, if not you, it could be your child or grandchild.

Allow me pen off by once again calling on you to support my cause and to always pray to our brothers, sisters, friends, and relatives that have succumbed to the deadly AIDS scourge.

Yours in Humanitarian Service,

Denis Wampula.
